SOLUTION: Using DSP 6 Channel Amp in Non-DSP Car
For various reasons, people have wanted to replace their stock existing amp with a 6-channel version. People thought they couldn't use the DSP version because it requires a signal from the DSP unit to power on. Therefore, people looked for the 6-channel amp from the 911 because there was a version without DSP.
Today I found the solution! You simply jumper pin 1 and pin 18 in the 18 pin connector that plugs into the amp. This is similar to jumpering pins 2 and 6 on the DSP connector in the console, but you can now do in on cars that never had DSP in the first place. I.E. Pins 2 and 6 on the dash side translates to 1 and 18 on the amp side. |
I have 2 and 6 jumped on my DSP plug in order to get rid of the controller.....this was a suggestion from a forum member more electrically inclined than I am. There is a increased background hiss with this method. Perhaps jumping at the amp will cure this.
