Insurance Rates on a 1999 Boxster?

I'm thinking about purchasing a 1999 Boxster, how are insurance rates? High... Medium... and what kind of MPG do you get.
Thanks!

I was surprised to find my insurance rate was the same as the 96 Honda Civic that the boxster replaced. Call or go online with your current insurance company, they do quotes all the time, and rates vary considerably from person to person (gender, age, driving record, location etc). I typically get 22-26 mpg, the way I drive :D, but I rarely use fifth gear unless on the hwy.

Fan, I added a '99 Boxster as a second car to my existing insurance policy this spring. The premium increase for the Box was $530 (annually). My first trip bringing the Box home highway, I got 31mpg. I drive more agressively now, and I get 26-27mpg city-highway combined.

Rates vary by state and carrier. Call you agent, question answered!

Good luck.

Is this a good deal I'm getting its a 1999, tiptronic, 79K miles for 15,500?

Hi,

Your insurance rate will depend upon the carrier (each uses it's own Rate Calculator), your demographic (age, driver history, marital status, credit rating, etc.), your state, zip code.

I own a '99 TipS and I pay $334 annually for Full Coverage incl. Glass, $1000 deductible. Hope this helps...

Happy Motoring!... Jim'99

Hi,

It's only a good deal if it appears well cared for, has Service Records and passes a PPI. The most expensive Boxster to own is usually the one which was the cheapest to buy! Good Luck!...

Yeah, I'm looking for auto only. Just hard to find them local for a good price. I think If I can get that guy down to around $14,500 I will take it.

I pay about $1200 a year for my '99.

I consistently get 21 mpg.

Nick
