Safe to manually leave rear spoiler on at its highest point all the time?

Just got my 99 today. Darn spoiler dash light is on. Spoiler seems to be at bottom position. Would it be safe for me to manually set it at its highest point and just leave it like that for safety sake, stability / traction for car? If I do this, will dash light go out? I heard issues with spoiler are common. Ger.

Your spoiler light will always be on when you start your car. As you drive it (~20mph) the light should go out.

Other than it looks kinda dumbass at low speeds, no harm in it being up all the time.

Sorry if my information doesn't match what others have said. Its been a while.

I test drove a 99 back years ago (~2001 or so) that I was consider purchasing. I remember the spoiler light being lit. I was concerned there was a potential issue. Selling dealer told me it would go out as I started to drive. It did.

That was a long time ago but I seem to remember the same thing on the 2000S I purchased a couple years later and sold after 10 years.
