Ignition switch problem - fixed!

Hello,

my car is 1998, 2.5 Boxster 986.

I had a problem with the strarter - when I put the key on contact position and turn it right to start the car the key didn't turn back left. It was staying in position, so there was a problem with the electricity - AC, radio, lights, wipers and so on were not working.
I had to turn it back mannually.

Local keysmith told me that I had to change the ignition switch. He explained me that for my Boxster this part is identical to one used in Audi 80, 1996-1999. Turns out that new ignition switch cost 20 bulgarian leva (around 12 USD) and the labour cost was 30 leva (18 USD).

I am attaching photo of the part in case anyone has same problem.

It was cheap and easy fix.

Thanks!
