I would caution you against driving long distances with anything heavy or large on the RTS, if you will be going over 50mph. It can be done but don't expect to enjoy yourself. With a 15lb Thule ski box, over 50mph the handling is terrible because it catches so much wind the car feels top heavy and skittish. Same effect with something smaller but heavy. I actually switched to a clamp style ski rack so I wouldn't have to use the box.

What exactly are you trying to transport that would be pushing the max weight of the RTS?
