2000 Boxster oil dipstick

Hello,
I find it hard to read the oil dipstick. My oil is always clean as I change it every 4000K. When I can see it, it looks full, but the gauge in the car after running it sometimes says is down a couple bars. Any reason why this is?

Also, the digital MPH light in the dash is very dim and almost unable to see. I tried to adjust, but it will not get brighter.

Thanks for any help.

Mykel

Try a method that "sheds" more light on that dipstick. In other words... identify a method that instills confiodence in the stick results.

Before last I changed my oil my dash read was all bars... and that reconciled with the reading on the stick. The last time I changed my oil the stick read accurate... but I was down 2 bars. That 2 bars annoyed me until after about the 20th time (over a couple months) I decided to rely on the stick.

Upon this forum there are posts/threads that deal with this.

Oh! If you check your oil level after a drive (via the dash/bars) it will read low because these engiones ned a litle time for the oil to drain back into the pan.

Your MPH light... is it dim... or completely out? Do a search upon this forum and you'll get some direction.

Have a great holiday.
