98 boxster 986 wipers stopped working

Hi Everyone.

My wipers on my 98 986 stopped working suddenly. They don't move at all.

I don't have the intermittent feature so I think that there is no relay for them (as far as I can tell from the Bentley manual).

The fuse is fine.

The washers still work fine.

Is this pretty much a dead motor? Anything else to consider?

There is a relay for the wipers so that can be your problem. According to oldskool73 in this thread, he has a 97 so you should have it for your 98 as well. Factory wiper relay is 98661510300. It is pretty easy to locate and the relay is located above the fuse box underneath the driver side.

I changed it to a VW/Skoda one to get the intermittent feature last year based on his suggestion. It works and I'm happy. According to some with the intermittent wiper dial, this mod works better.

I'm confused . . . so is there a relay for non-intermittent wipers?

If so, where is it?

If I add the intermittent relay will my wipers work?

They are all intermittent, but the upgrade is adding variability to that.

The relay is on the panel right above the dead pedal (LHD cars) it’s blue and on the third row from the top on the far right.
