Manual Top Conversion Power Issues

Hey guys,

I recently purchased a 2000 Boxster and the top wasn't working. Found this awesome forum and this guide and converted it to manual.

http://986forum.com/forums/diy-project-guides/68939-stuck-convertible-top-manual-operation.html

After doing that and wrapping the brown and brown/black wire together the dash lights still stay on after shutting the vehicle off. I'm not sure if there is "another thing" to look for or if there are some steps I can do to figure out the culprit??

Battery held a charge fine up until I did the manual conversion.

Thanks everyone!!!

Bump. I know the manual conversion gets asked alot but I have looked at all of those threads and this is a unique (to me) problem. Any help guys???

By dash light, do you mean the general cluster (odometer, clock) displays staying on or the top warning light?

Try removing the relay for the top, it's under the dash above the fuse panel.

There are useful steps for troubleshooting the top in this web page if decide to fix it: https://www.justanswer.com/porsche/3vq2d-own-2004-boxster-s-the-top-will-not-go-down-when.html

The entire dash. I'm running there today to jump it to move it and i'll snap a pic after I removed the key and let it sit for a couple minutes (I know they turn off after a slight delay of removing the key)

I'm guessing...

Disconnect the battery... reconnect... see if that doesn't square things up.

I'll definitely give that a shot thanks for the suggestion!!!

Sorry for the delay i know that's the most frustrating thing when a new person comes in and is super unresponsive. Cars is back at my new apt so I will be working on it daily. Got a new battery and it starts up but when I turn it off and lock it (wether the top is latched in the up position or when it's down) the dash stays on. Looks like all the telltale lights are gone (I did remove that big fuse for the top and this is what I see.
