Thanks. Yup, watched that one and it was helpful. The gears seem to work, I did test them before linkages were connected to the top. Full range of motion with no bouncing or strange noises.

I believe something is telling the motor to stop and start. Perhaps the sensor behind the drivers side left shoulder. I'm going to play a bit more with that one, see if that has something to do with it.

Have you tried swapping relays? Might be the culprit if everything else seems to be in order.

Good point. I'll have to check I guess. I'll report back.

Well I replaced the relay and still had the same issue.

So I decided to play with the sensor over my shoulder. I "pulled" and held it towards the front of the car ever so slightly and I had full range of movement. Opening and closing. So I guess I know what the issue is now!

Still have a bunch of things I need to set. And the roof movement is jerky. So I bet there is some alignment I need to do. But it's getting there.

I used my social distancing time to pull my top transmission today. The passenger side plastic gear was cracked and split. I'm ordering new gears. I hope I can get the other side back in time. That is where the limit switch is and I can't find any alignment marks. Mine behaved a lot like that b

I decided to go thru a complete reconnection today following the factory manual. It seems like that has fixed the issue completely. For those that want it, the manual reference is 61 77 05.

I'm pretty pleased with myself on this.
