I just recently bought a 99 with 22,000 miles on it. It had only been driven 9,000 miles since 2006, but maintenance had been done on the time schedule. I drove it gingerly for about 100 miles, then started working it a bit; finally going through the gears up to redline. It looks and runs like a brand new car. IMS bearing is on the back of my mind, but because the early dual row bearings have a VERY low failure rate, unless something shows up in the oil I'm going to leave it alone until clutch work is required. If it should fail; it will give me an excuse to indulge and put in a 'built' engine of some kind.
