The switch to turn the headlights on isn’t working correctly. I want to replace it myself if possible. Can anyone direct me to DIY information?

Thanks in advance for the feedback.
Hello Scottblue
I am old school, into repairing stuff. I took the switch apart and bent the contacts over slightly. Its been ok now for about 2 years. My ride is a 2002 Boxster S with around 102,000 on the clock.
FWIW my '97 had a funky acting light switch. I disassembled it to see what was going on, and it was all chowdered up. All the remaining plastic had the consistency of a fortune cookie. Did not age well.
My '03 also had a pretty odd-acting switch, but I never investigated.
Seems to be a weak point. Incredibly easy to swap out, though.

That's exactly what mine did before I replaced the switch to resolve.
It is not too bad of a job. Good luck!
Awesome. My new switch should arrive tomorrow. I'd much rather replace the switch than have to replace the ballast, headlight, etc. Keeping my fingers crossed this will work. I'm 99.999% certain it will based on others' experiences.

It's an easy, straightforward, 2 hour job...30 minutes replacing the headlight switch, and 1.5 hours looking for the screw that fell on the floor mat, and shot like a bullet into the drivers seat pan, clearly defying all laws of physics.
