Track attack!

I've cobbled together another short video on my channel. This one outlines the steps to take for your first track event. Hope you enjoy it!

Niceeee!!! That is a fast circuit, must have been a blast (less the wet weather from one scene toward the end). Thanks for sharing James, subscribed + bell ON!

Thanks for the comments and the subscription! Have you been to the Mont Tremblant circuit?

Awesome vid, Art! It answered some questions I had.

Tiptronics. Are there any drivers out there running Tips... button shifting instead of a manual?

Thanks!

Very nice, Newart! Subscribed!

I may go this year. My wife did DE last year, while I sat observing.

I noticed you had a garage door opener on the visor. I don't know if my local PCA would allow that.

Ours (hers) is a Tip. She ran it last year, and I may go this year. She did not use the paddle shifters, but I plan to, unless the instructor suggests otherwise.

Yes. Superbike only though, never did on 4 wheels. Way too fast this place man... its already nasty on two wheels I can't imagine trying to manage inertia with 2 tons of weight, I'd crap my pants I'm sure lol

It gets a bit mental coming in #2, and finally seeing #8 (hairpin) is a relief... reminds you can live another 1.5 minute until the nightmare continuously repeats itself

I started with a tip. You drive what you have but it's no PDK! Changing to a 6 speed upped the ante, even before I did the mods.

Piper: Garage door opener; Yeah, tech line must have missed that! Not a great idea.

Haha. 2 to 3 is up over the top where your car skips sideways with nothing to be seen over the ridge: Exhilarating!

Yea, nice place if you fancy stuff like high-speed levitation (not elevation, I meant levitation, literally) and cold tire corner entries lol read "Pro Only" man. It goes so fast in some sections I swear it looks like the trees are growing right in the middle of your race line... good reference points though, if you like nature

Seriously though, I miss that place, a lot. I'm so bloody jealous of James I had to go all negative on him

He was a good friend. I still think of him as such, but it'd be presumptuous of me to assume he feels the same; we've only spoken once in the last 9 years.

I met him as he was beginning the design on the Miller motorsports park tracks in Utah, in '04.

He is the most prolific track designer ever, with tracks all over the world. Many like to criticize that his tracks are too "computer generated", but the man uses the tools to create AMAZING tracks, and the facilities around them. And he's well known fir helping create motorsports culture where there isn't one. Look at his barber motorsports park as an example.
