Membership should run for 12 months from the time you join. It costs about $40 and then you local region may charge about another $25.

blkboxster, if you purchased your car from a Porsche dealership, check with them too, as they may sponsor some track and driver education events. They usually just charge a fee for insurance coverage to offset some of the expenses for the actual event.

PCA is a good thing

...good on ya for joining...also, don't forget to ask for your 10% parts discount at your local dealership...that should help you justify the 40 cost of entry...

also, i tend to agree with bmussati...the best and safest way to make your porsche faster is to become a better driver...the ax and de will have driver instructors there that will walk, ride and even drive your car for you showing you what it can do when and where on the track...it's a great experience and well worh the entries and time...

there is alot of performance in there....just not stop light drag racing performance...

good luck...

cheers,

"Membership should run for 12 months from the time you join. It costs about $40 and then you local region may charge about another $25."

There's only that one $42 (I think) PCA fee and you then pick which region you want to belong (or they assign you automatically based on your address). No extra local fee.

I highly recommend going to a DE. Also, depending on how active your local org is, there are a lot of events (in addition to DE and AX) for fun and meeting Porsche people in your area. I signed up for a "Coffee Run" this coming Saturday with the Connecticut Valley Region. Smth like a relaxed rallye to enjoy the Northwest CT folliage for a couple of hours, and then lunch together. Great for significant others to join in, as well.

And the PCA membership allows you to participate in ANY event in ANY region -- not only yours.

Z.
