Spark plug suggestion

Probably opening a can of worms but looking for replacement spark plugs for a 97 986 2.5. Local dealer quoted me $23 each, gotta be a less expensive option. Just wanting stock specs, nothing performance. Prefer something I can pickup at local chain-Autozone, oreillys etc since I have short time to put these in my “home for the holidays” sons car.

Suggestions?

You can go to Autozone and pick up whatever they recommend.

Any of these will work fine. Priced $4-$7 each.

Bosch FR-7-LDC+ (7402)
Beru 14 FR-7 LUD
NGK BKR6EK (2288)

I think it's only a can o worms for one member here, who famously told us he could feel a difference in power between spark plug brands. (The rest of us snickered at that, hahaha)

I'm with stone: go get something they recommend at autozone and forget about it.

If you don't have to have them right now I would suggest you order them from Pelican Parts the sponsor of this great forum .

Copper plugs are s upposed to provide better spark, but they don't last as long. Iridium are much more expensive, but have much longer life, too. I believe I put in the Nippon Denso iridiums, the engine had previously had Beru, which I think was OEM. I get most of my auto parts at the Rock, I think mine had a rebate. Always had good results with ND, I have ND coil caps in both my cars. And a set of ND O2 sensors in waiting for the Boxster. Coils and sensors are still crazy expensive, tho.
