Hi guys,
I just purchased a 2001 base Boxster today, and I'm completely new to the Porsche world so I was wondering if you guys could help me. Two problems with the car I bought (which I was aware of at time of purchase), and maybe you guys might know how I can fix them.
1. The car runs fine, the speedometer, fuel, oil temps, mileage reading all work fine, but the RPM gauge will not move at all. The seller told me he just drives the car by sound, and that everything is mechanically okay, just no needle movements. I really want to get this fixed. He said it could be as simple as a broken fuse, or it might need replacing the whole cluster. Does anyone have any clue what it could be, or how I can try to go about fixing this?
2. The other issue is that the driver side front trunk switch doesn't work. The rear switch works, but for the front he says he just pulls the cable underneath the front of the car if he needs to access it. I've read that these are electric switches, and this might also be a fuse issue. Any suggestions here?
Thank you guys very much, and I appreciate any advice or help I can get from you guys.
