I think the only option if you were to upgrade your door sills guards to painted door sill guards would be to get carbon fiber sill guards to protect the painted sill guards, but paint the carbon sill guards to look like the painted sill guards so you don't have a crime of fashion going on in that valuable door sill.

I had stainless steel ones that I put the Porsche crest on by cutting them out of the key fob you see here and then securing them on the sills with automotive grade double sided 3M emblem tape.
