Radiator/Condensor cleaning

Installed gutter mesh 2 years ago, after removing a reasonable amount of debris from between the radiator/condensor. I had driven the car for a month or two before the mesh install and, after the mesh install there was no discernable difference in temperature (per gauge).

Between the 2 units? Zero. Nothing. A little dust.

There was no vacuuming involved, but I did soap everything down (to loosen any dust) and hosed out everything.

This type (link below), and 6'x36'. 2 pieces will do the trick (and likely some leftover for the side vents). I chose this mesh type because the "holes" weren't so small to cause me concern about reduced airflow at high speed.

I purchased my mesh at The Home Depot, but was unable to locate the product upon their website. IIRC, each 6x36 piece was $2.97.

When I installed my mesh I left the aluminum look and, before installing it, painted the grills black. Small rocks and debris have given them the salt and pepper so I'm going to shoot both the grills and mesh black.

While I'm in there I'll take a look at positioning the emergency hood release cable.

Just wanted to share in the event anyone is considering the mesh. <$8, and you're good to go.

Ahhhh, Man! I just buttoned up the shrouds. THough I'm guessing you've seen one condenser you've seen them all.

I'll take before (salt and pepper) and after (painted) pics of the mesh inserts and vents. Both pieces are in the DW right now... a sun dry... and then gloss black ceramic engine paint on the vents and mesh.

Later today... tomorrow for certain.

Cheers!

You are right, I have seen the insides. I cleaned my radiators once so far. Not as bad as I imagined. Curious to see how your screens turned out.
