Engin oil ?

Hi all,
I am new here, got a 1999 Boxster and don't know what oil I should use vor the next oil change

Let me be the first to welcome you. Now let me be the first to suggest you use the search function before posting a question.

A lot of topics have been previously discussed ad nauseam. None more so than oil type. I use Liqui-Moly 5-40.

You are excused and pardon my bluntness.
A lot of people run Mobil 1. I did for years.

I recently switched to Shell Rotella T6 0w-50 and the engine has never been happier. I had a tick at cold start that no longer exists and it just feels smoother (probably placebo).

If you want to go absolute top shelf, Joe Gibbs DT40, but it’s ridiculously expensive and probably overkill.

For your climate, I would go with 0w-50.
If you can’t get it, 0w-40 will be fine.
