DIY Bimini/Spyder Top

A few years ago I replaced my 2001 top due to the plastic window completely deteriorating.
I chose to buy a used 2003 top on 4 rib frame with glass and its been fantastic.

However I dont know what to do with the old top which is in great condition except for the plastic window.

I was wondering if anyone has tried cutting out the window area and making a Spyder/Bimini type top out of it?

I hate to just throw the old top and frame out but resale value is next to nothing so maybe it can be re-purposed?

Ideas?

Ray

Instead of a Bimini top you could have a rear window with a zipper installed by an interior shop. But that would probably require removing the top from the frame and then reinstalling it onto the frame. Is the view worth the climb or the juice worth the squeeze?

^^^ i've contemplated similar mods in my expansive imagination, but probably will never do it.
I'm curious to see how it looks when finished. Radium King - Keep the forum updated!
