It's funny, well not really, but funny in the sense that it's only my driver side door that creaks. Maybe it gets used a lot more, who knows. Anyway, the only way I have found to get rid of it is to periodically grease it. I tried loosening the U-clamp and closing the door hoping that it would find it's natural spot to no avail. Over time the hinges have probably worn ever so slightly and everything is a little looser than they were. Twenty years is a long time.

If anyone finds a solution would sure like to hear about it.
