Extend my Seat...does it work?

Fellow Members:

The subject of comfort in the 986 cabin has been addressed before. Personally, I find the cabin to be a bit cramped no matter what the driver's seat position is. The GT3 console delete does help a little, but I still cannot get comfortable.

Has anyone tried the Extend My Seat brackets for the 986? I am interested in this product, but I'd like to know if it really works. From what I can observe in my car (2002 986) with the seat all the way back there is really no more room for it to travel. I have seen reference to good results for the Porsche 911.

Can anyone comment?

Thanks
Matt M.

I think you're right, but I have no experience with them. I did see something recently, not sure if it was here or on a Facebook Boxster group, where someone had removed the insulation or padding under the carpeting on the rear firewall access panel which allowed the seat to recline some more.

Hello,

I am also curious if anyone has managed to gain legroom/further extend the seat a bit more back by installing this seat rail.

Thanks

Once the seat back hits the rear bulkhead, nothing short of a plasma cutting torch is going to move it further rearward..............

My main issue is that my knees are a bit close to the steering wheel; I'm just looking to lower the seat a bit more.

Are you sure the seat is as far down as it can go? This may sound like a dumb question but I had my car for years before I realized the full up/down range.

On mine, the passenger seat raise/lower hydraulic piston failed in the UP position, making it impossible to lower
