I did mine myself. The console, surrounds, etc were already arctic silver, but starting to look a little raggedy, so I took it all out, smoothed the chips, scuffed everything, epoxy primed it and painted it in bascoat/clearcoat. It took two days start to finish and cost less than $100. When I get around to it, I'm going to shoot a non-smoker's tray and switch out the ash tray.

It's not hard. You should try it. The red shifter boot would look great!

Nice job! I've painted plastics before and I'm waayyyyy to much a perfectionist to do this job quickly. I think I spent 7 hours wet sanding, priming, painting and clear coating a two pieces of plastic. I also want an exact exterior match.

anyhoo
by the way here's a grey knob for a six speed BoxsterS that would match the grey steering wheel nicely.
$100 so far.

I Put On the Gauge Rings Yesterday

I added brushed aluminum gauge rings to my interior yesterday. Together with the Porsche crest on the steering wheel, I thing they make the interior on my 2000 base Boxster look a little more finished. The car came with the white "aluminum look" gauge faces.
