Whats a 2001 worth with a blown engine?

The top and litronics add perhaps $1-1.5k value. If you like the condition and the color I think it a steal at $2.3k for parts. That it is so long owned by one person another plus. Any suspension updates maintenance history?

folks often forget the incidental costs of an engine swap.

Coolant, oil, maybe PS fluid and AC will run you $500 or so

You'll almost certainly do a clutch, water pump, serpentine belt, maybe an IMS retrofit.
All things you might not touch if you buy used but running...

On the flip side -- there is a small chance the failure isn't fatal -- and then it depends on what took it out -- but you could come out ahead.

I sold my 2002 S model, std. trans, black over savannah beige, about 100K miles if I remember for $2300. It had intermix, turned out to be a cracked cylinder. Needed an engine. That's about all they're worth.
