Lots of variables. What width and offset are the rims? If you go “too big” then you will likely have a clearance issue. My fenders are rolled and I’ve got good clearance. It might take some (expensive) experimenting. I like the look of some 19’s but not all. They definitely are a bit more harsh, ride wise and tire pressures are key.

Let's start with some baselines:

You said they're 8" frt & 10" rear.

What sized tires came with the rims?

What are the offsets? They hopefully are listed by the air nipple.

Are you using any spacers?

The offsets should be stamped somewhere on the back of the rim hub or spokes. An online tire calculator can help determine what will fit without modding the car.

Just an observation that the rim lip seems very thick as seen from the pics. IMHO this is contributing to the tire sidewall appearing to stand in from the rim. A ‘rim saver’ tire sidewall contour might help to minimize this effect (but it seems that your existing tires already have these sidewall extensions).

Best luck, I always enjoy seeing your projects. Your car always looks great!

Thanks. They do seem to have a thick edge. I may have to go to a tire store and buy them. I normally buy online but the tire selector doesn't work when you're working with a size thats not stock

The way my 18s fit:

Std Porsche 987 19" wheels & tires are:
235/35/19 on 8" wheel front, 57mm offset
265/35/19 on 9.5" wheel rear, 46mm offset

The 30 series tires on the rear are probably to fill the extra 1/2" on your aftermkt wheel. If you want a squarer shoulder, you might go with a 30 series in the front and a 285 on the rear. But that's where the offsets will start to impact whether wider tires will cause fitment issues with suspension and fenders. The e-brake cable and aluminum cross brace come into play with 10" rear wheels.

Can I suggest using the new way to insert pics rather than the old? The old way puts ginormous pics into the thread and makes it a pain to read.

Thanks for the advise. I really don't know the width of the rear wheels, that's why the question mark after the width. They very well be 9.5" I know they are aftermarket because of being not stamped. I didnt mention it because I didnt think it was relevant. I checked my factory Carreras that came on the car and they are 225/40/18 on the front.
I removed the giant pic.

Still asking if anyone is running 19" aftermarket wheels on their 986 for the tire size that worked for them.
Thanks
