Spoiler motor location?

I want to disconnect the power my rear spoiler. I removed the fuse and thought that would do but just realized that also kills my hatch/trunk release. If it raises it will hit my rear wing. Did a search but no luck. Thanks in advance.

This is a picture out of the factory parts catalog. It shows the location of the motor. I wonder if you can just unplug the motor to disable it?

Could be wrong but as I recall if you just unplug w/o reprogramming the dash light will give you a fault.

But short term, yeah unplugging will prevent interference.

A little more detail...on my '99 - the fault will clear after the car is turned off (so no spoiler fault on the next power on) but it will return if the car reaches 75mph when the ECU tries to raise the spoiler and stay illuminated until the power is turned off.

I got it unplugged, that was a pain.

No light at idle. Curious about when at speed tho.

You could always take the light bulb out of the warning light in the dash.
