What’s the hose that goes above intake manifold?

Can someone shed some light on the purpose of the hose? it has foam material that’s for heat insulation I assume?

without a pic, I'm assuming you are talking a hose that goes from drivers side to passenger side. This is an A/C refrigerant line. If you are referring to the hose shaped lines running front to back, those are the shifter cables.

Yes it’s tiptronic. The hose is going from front to the back of the engine. I’ll try to upload the pic as the site won’t allow me to.

Yep....it is the linkage cable. I am guessing they located it there so as to allow one to drop the motor with trans still in car.

...Or, just drop them together like I did mine if you are so inclined.
