tire size

Just bought a 2001 boxster s and it has 235 r19 on the front and 275 r19 on the rear, my question is are these tires to big, nothing rubs and the tires are almost new so I would hate to buy new tires but what does everyone think

too big is kinda relative, but as long as they don't rub, you should be fine. You may hear others talk about additional weight of 19's but you should be good.

Weight was only an issue on '97/'98, I think Porsche actually put out a TSB to not use 19's on those years. If it isn't rubbing you should be okay, if you want the official sizes for 19's you can look here: https://www.porsche.com/usa/accessoriesandservices/porscheservice/vehicleinformation/tyreapproval/

My '01 came with 275 r20 tires on the rear. I ran them for a couple years until they started to wear, then changed to 18s. It rode and handled well with no issues other than an occasional rub at the outside of the tire on the fender edge.

What size are you running on the 18's?
Im putting 18's on mine for street use, and would love to know what works well.

I have 225/40 on front and 265/35 on the rear. It's a recommended size and looks balanced on the car.

Since you have a set of track wheels and tires, you may consider Sumitomo HTR Z II, or Z III as a decent affordable street tire. Mine has the Z II and I'm satisfied.

I run 235/35 front and 275/30 without issue. If you go 19 the offsets have to be nailed.
