funny you should mention it because I've been hearing allot about this car from my pal who isn't a sports car guy but has been wanting a 'sporty' car ever since he became green with envy that I am cooler than him for having the best roadster ever made. he has trouble sleeping at night because I am cooler.

From a design point of view, I think its a better looking car than my Boxster (from the outside). But just slightly better looking. I've never really considered the front end of the 986/987 to be very ground breaking or awe inspiring as sports cars go. But in 911 terms it was definitely a big leap forward (Boxster and 1999-2001 911 are the same car up front) The "glorified VW" 911's of the past were plain dull and slightly fem for my taste. I always thought the 928 and 944 were much more modern in the 80's. The 2002-2004 911 was the best design for the front end of 911 ever me thinks. Too bad that wasn't ever incorporated into the Boxster.

anyhoo the g35 looks great but I don't consider it a sports car.
With sports cars it is or it isn't.
I don't believe in this 'Sport' sedan,
'Sport' SUV, 'Sport GTI' bla bla bla....

If you make a sports car in a 4 door version, the coupe loses all rights to being called a sports car. Guilt by association. Such is the case with the 2 and four door G35. the only exceptions to this 4 door rule are the SUbaru STI and Mistu EVO (especially with a GUINE peformance exhaust).
But more importantly the car is too heavy for the power on hand if its to be taken seriously as a sports car. Maserati Gran Sport? sports car. Maserati Quatroporte? not a sports car.
If you are looking for a comfy touring car that doesn't make you feel like a chauffer because of a rear seat and four doors, then the g35 is a great choice.

p.s.
they have to work on their color combinations. not enough options for such a nice looking car.

The G35 is considered a Sports Coupe, ala BMW 330Ci.

Another nice car too!

Thats funny, I always liked the front end of the Boxster over the 2002-2004 996. I also think the Boxster is better looking from the front then it is from the back.

With small upgrades, like mine (GT3 Front and 2004 Rear w/o bumperettes) I think the Boxster is an awesome looking car.....Oh ya and don't forget about the sideskirts......wait and the wheels.

UGLY if you ask me.

the back end is sooo ugly with out a spoiler. the car has already aged and needs a fresh looking design again. the side view of the car is nice but such a big car, so heavy.

a sports car is sleek n low. this is not a sports car. its just a car.

i see at least 10 a day.
