Ignition Switch/Electrical switch question

I'm looking to replace the electrical component of my ignition switch. I have all the symptoms I've read on here. Sticks in start, hard to turn to off, etc. Is there an easy way to determine which replacement I need without getting under the dash to remove it before ordering? Ideally, I'd like to climb under the dash once, to remove/replace at the same time. Thanks!!

Just go by the year of your car.

Unless the whole mechanism has already been replaced, it shouldn't be an issue.

One other thing, you don't have to order if you don't want to. NAPA and other stores will sell this item at a reasonable price. You could buy both and take back the incorrect one if you're worried about it.
