Best tires
Looking to get new tires, was wondering which tires will last the longest, my Hankook tires are wearing pretty quickly.

Welcome to the forum.
Just friendly advice, oil and tires are real hot bed issues here. To answer your question generally, if you want the best wear then you're going to have to sacrifice performance and go with an all season. These cars eat tires and brakes for breakfast. Rears will obviously wear faster. Use the search function as I know this has been discussed at length along with pros and cons. |

Summer perf. tires you will have to re-calibrate your basis of longevity. I think in terms of 20-22k miles for the rear for a decent summer perf. tire They will wear out on the inside first |
Tire wear is a trade off for performance.
I had Michelin pilot supersports (I believe now replaced by PS4S in the Michelin lineup) and was very pleased with them. Wear was acceptable for the performance, fantastic grip in the wet, minimal road noise, and unbeatable performance, just don’t get caught out in the snow. |
5I know some will wrinkle their noses on this recommendation, but they have been great tires on my 2003 Boxster and less than $350 shipped to my door. Sure I have to pay $80 to have them mounted and balanced!!!
And these are GREAT tires made by Michelin. I have NO affiliation with tirerack. I have these tires on my Boxster and 2 of our Saab 9-5 Aero wagons and they are great. I also agree that the Michelins are great. Currently running PS4S myself

I have Hankook V12 Evo tires. The rears last between 25K to 30K. So about 3 seasons for me. This is my second set. I've been happy with them. You might want to check your alignment if your are wearing way faster then that.

Add me to the michelin group, I run them on everything I own. My dad swore buy them and my experience prooves his loyalty.

I've used Michelin PS4 tires on my Audi, and use Michelin on my SUV. I like Michelins, but depending on type of tire selection (summer tires wear quicker than all season), you can expect summer tires will wear sooner than all season tires. The benefit is that you will have better grip than all season tires.

Michelin ps4 / super sports hands down
|
The "best" tire depends on your expectations. If you are looking for low wear its one tire, and if you are looking for track performance its a completely different tire.
Share what you are looking for. You suggested it was long tire life. Do you care about wet, dry, cold performance? |
Cheaper to buy a Corolla than to save on tires in a sports car.

+1 I have Hankook's on both cars. I am very happy with performance and wear so far. Zero track days, fast twisty roads only.

Pirelli P4 Four Seasons Plus. Consumer Reports estimates that they might last 100,000 miles. I didn't believe it either, so you'll have to read the report and decide for yourself. I couldn't bring myself to check if they come in Boxster friendly sizes. That is just asking too much. Consumer Reports - How to Buy Long Lasting Tires |
I have done over 100,000 miles on factory installed tires a couple of times, but definitely not on a Boxster.

My car had PSS on when I bought it 3years ago. They did not fully wear out but timed out. I liked them so put them on again but I don’t think the new ones feel as grippy as the last set. Not sure I will put them on again when these are done.
