P1128 and P1130 success

Shortly after coming out of winter hibernation my CEL came on. Car is a 99 with 43,000 miles. Codes thrown were P1128 and P1130. The car was running well with the exception of a tiny stumble off of idle. I pulled the MAF and cleaned it but the codes showed as pending and CEL eventually came back. After searching the forum I learned that I could have among other things, a failing AOS (I believe that mine is original), a random vacuum leak - or a bad MAF. Since the MAF was simple to replace I started there. A couple of days later Amazon (by far the best pricing) delivered a new Bosch MAF and a new air filter. Problem solved!!! I passed my biannual emissions test yesterday. Idle is smooth and the little stumble is gone. I'm very pleased!!

My 1999 takes a different MAF than your 2000. It looks like you could have three different part numbers for your year - original and two updated ones. Make sure you are installing the one that your car is set up for.

i know.. i've sent my chassis number to Pelican parts and they sent me the correct part number but i'm so tired of these stupid codes i'm willing to try a different MAF.

i'm wondering.. is there any DEFINITIVE way one can confirm he has the correct MAF version? what should Durametric read?

That's it - but it says that it won't fit a 2000.

right now i have this guy on the car and it doesnt seem to work:
0280218055 - 996 606 124 01

when i bought the car the MAF had already been replaced with a 996 606 124 01 part which is why i bought the same but i dont know what the ORIGINAL part was. my car is an early 2000 so maybe it had the older version of MAF for that year but original owner was wrong.

i'm gonna try the older version which maybe was originally on the car:
0 280 218 009 - 996 606 124 00

let's see if this one takes the cake.

Maybe call a dealer with your VIN? They should have the proper part number, one would hope? Assuming of course there are no other mods requiring a different part #...
