Casual Race with Sol

My neighbor pulled up next to me at a stop light with his Solstice and we had a little acceleration race for fun. Not sure if i even need to mention the results, he was way back in two seconds. I will say that the Solstice is a very nice looking ride in person, never really liked it much in pictures.

Safety Note: this was on a two lane open road and I shut her down at 65, so please no speeches.

The Solstice top looks real funky in the back! Like a badly folded pocket square. Looks totally like a second thought.

I assume this was the regular Solstice with 177 hp?

The Solstice GXP (Saturn Sky Redline) is coming later this year with 260 hp (5.5 0-60). I'm sure the 987 S is still faster, but it will certainly be closer.

Hypothetically of course, since I'm sure they'll be no Solstice vs. Boxster races going on... I will say that being beaten by a Solstice in a hypothetical race would be pretty embarassing.

A coworker has the regular Solstice and I don't much care for the looks or the fit and finish. Plus a manual top that requires one to get out of the car is Paleolithic. I do like the looks of the Saturn Sky though.

What could be worse? We all know what could be worse and is totally pathetic...having to get out of your boxster with an electric top and chopping the plastic. Now that's a design flaw if you ask me.
