Part ID

Can anyone confirm that this is a mud guard? Fits just in front of rear tires on '99 Box. Would like to replace but want to be sure I know the proper nomenclature.

Hang on a second... I replaced one of those on my 2001 S... (pretty sure it's the same part, but I'll double check with the PET)...

Pelican's website calls it a "mug guard". When I ordered it from them for my car 5 years ago it was called a "Floor Cover Trim, Black, Left".

Here's the current part numbers from Pelican:

986-504-393-00-01C-M100 (left side)

986-504-394-00-01C-M100 (right side)

If you order it elsewhere, just drop the "-M100" - that's Pelican's supplier code.

To replace it, jack up the car, remove the wheel (for working room), and remove the wheelwell liner ( 2 or 3 10mm plastic nuts). Then it's 3 or 4 philips or hex headed screws (two or three underneath, one under the wheelwell liner that attaches the mud flap to a bracket).

If you ever rip up just the rubber part on the bottom, you can order that separately (but it comes with the new mud flap).

Hope this helps!

Mudguard -

Left (driver side) is Part #: 986-504-393-00-01C

Right (passenger side) is Part #: 986-504-394-00-01C

They are $87.50 each at Pelican Parts and $70.10 each at Sunset. Used ones without the scrapes shown in your picture are hard to come by!

Be sure to shop hard, the price can range from $67 to way over $100. Spendy little bit of swag!
