When the lip on either side of the rotor is 1mm it is due for replacement. I have a set of calipers that I measure the rotor thickness with. A lot easier than measuring the lip.

I've sent parts back that outwardly looked fine.

Something as simple as claiming they are warped is likely good enough.

I'm not sure they care, strange as it is.

I just replaced the pads on all four wheels (along with rotors) about 4 months ago and used Akebono pads. Very happy with them, no noise, very little dust and stop great.

Two things I never scrimp on, tires and brakes. Very happy w Zimmerman rotors and EBC yellow pads.

Bosch pads

Last fall (50k miles) I replaced (original?) Brembo pads w/ Bosch. They do not make contact w/rotor to the outer edge which leaves about 1/8" of surface rust showing on Rotors...They stop just fine but suck astetically..Would buy the Brembos if I could do over...

Do you have the part number and which line it is? My department and I would like to investigate this.

Thanks

Mark
