Dome light bolts / Molly's???

Hey Guys,

I have been in the process of replacing the crappy dome light (with plastic clips) with the updated one with metal clips.... Still haven't found a source for the matching connector.... But still looking!),

I have a new fun issue.... Godzilla must have tightened the bolts down with an impact gun.... The Molly's that anchor the (2) dome light bolts are so squished/ starred..... That the torx dome light bolts won't hold them.... they won't dog down and just fall out..... Any idea how to replace them and would hardware store Mollys work to fix it! As the dome light housing holds the latch for the roof.... I REALY want this to be solid.....

Thanks.... And as usual..... Sorry for the dumb question......
Fred

You Sir, are a steely-eyed missle man!!! (to oddly quote "The Right Stuff!)

Thank you so much for this.... This is easy enough, that even a ham handed, kitchen table, wrench turner like me, can do it.... Looks like I'll be making a harbor freight run,
For a pint of tasty tasty Chinesium!

Thank You Very Much!!! I was afraid I was going to have to use duck tape and bailing wire!!!

Thanks!
Fred

My car is a '98 it has the rocker" style dome light, the 2001-2004 have a switch.... But more importantly the early cars dome light mount have kinda cheesy plastic mounts that break fairly easily.... (Particularly if ya are a gorilla, like me!) the 2001-2004 have metal clips that hold the dome light to the housing..... The only down side the electrical
Connector is diffent.... So I am hunting for one....
