I haven’t done any logging but I had this link saved for future reference. I haven’t read the whole thing but I’m sure this should be helpful

Thanks...I've bookmarked the link and made some progress.

If I select actual camshaft angles for both or either bank, monitor for a period, and then go to option and export, I see the values. So that's good.

What I want to do next is activate bank 1's variocam and see what effect it has on the bank 1actual angles. Here's where I run into a wall. It seems if I activate the variocam that it turns off actual angles monitoring. After my laptop recharges, I'll try activating bank 1 and then selecting the appropriate active value to monitor. I'm concerned that when I do this, it will stop the activation.

To sum up, I want to activate and monitor at the same time and record the result in a log or Excel file.

Hi all:

I may have found the solution, which I'll test when I get a chance in the next day or two.

It turns out the the Actual Values menu has a tab at the top named Activations, which missed this completely. And it turns out that drop down has a choice called camshaft adjustment. So plan is this:
  1. Start car
  2. Launch Durametric program
  3. Wait for car to reach normal operating temperature
  4. Select 'actual values'
  5. Select 'actual camshaft angles' for both bank 1 and bank 2
  6. Collect data for 30 seconds
  7. Go to the top of the actual values page and select the activations drop down
  8. Activate bank 2 and monitor for 30 seconds then stop
  9. Activate bank 1 (the problem bank) and monitor for 30 seconds then stop
  10. Go to the top of the actual values page and select options
  11. Choose export results to CSV file
  12. Select save
  13. End Durametric session

This sounds good in theory. I'll follow up and let folks know how it works out.

BTW: thanks to Kevin at Durametric for his suggestions
