Odd problem

Hi,

I am encountering an odd issue and hoping someone here has been through this and fixed it without having to bring it in to a shop. When I try to open the drivers side door after unlocking it does not open. A few quick taps above the door handle and it will pop open. This problem only occurs when the car goes from locked to unlocked, whilst remaining unlocked the door closes and open just fine.

Has anyone encountered this or know of a fix? Just wanted to get some tips before I take part or the door panel and investigate this further.

Many thanks in advance for your time and input.

Probably one of the switches is going bad or is out of alignment.

Thanks for the responses. My issue is from the outside and the door opens just fine from the inside.

@seningen - Can you elaborate more on what your mean by the switches?

Shot in the dark here as I've not had your particular problem. It seems reasonable that what you have is a lack of lubrication in the lock mechanism. I've had great luck using 3 in One lock dry lube which is available at all of the big box stores. It works wonders on all kinds of locks and mechanisms.
