Anybody know how to change the am/pm clock to military/24 hour?
Thanks. 8/16/06 1324 est |

Actually I lived in Europe for seven years and was in the army. I have a preference for 24 hour time. Plus, I think it adds to the ambience of the car. Whatever. Any thoughts? |
The owners manual for my '99 has instructions for changing the hours and minutes display, but no mention is made of any ability to switch to 24-hr display.

Hi,
IIRC, the only way to set the time mode in the Boxster is either with a PST2 or to disconnect the battery for a few hours. Upon reconnecting the battery and resetting the clock, you will get the option to select 12 or 24 Hr. mode before proceeding to set the actual value. Once this time mode is set, it is not adjustable unless there is an interuption to the power supply. Hope this helps. Happy Motoring!... Jim'99 |
Great
This is exactly the information I was looking for! I have the Bently book and there's no mention of this (I don't think).
Are there any other hazards in disconnecting the battery? For example, MAF or O2 sensor issues? Jeffsquire |
Maybe your radio code? After you re-connect the battery.
The car may run rough a few minutes until it cycles through. |
See, now this is why Jim is The Man, the WFE, and the rest of us are just Pluggers.

clock fuse
Might be easier to pull the clock fuse rather than disconnect the battery. That way do not need to renter radio code etc.

Pulled fuse
I've got the Bentley manual. I pulled the B1 fuse for 2000 Boxsters which controls the instrument panel. Waited 2 minutes. Put it back. The clock reset but only to am/pm.
I pulled fuse again and waited 5 minutes. Same thing. Any suggestions or is this a dead thread? Thanks for all of your advice anyway. E tu, Boxsterus? |
