Move power seat manually?

I am a neophyte with a 1999 Boxster. My power seats will not move enough for me to access the mounting bolts. Is there a way to move the seats manually?

Thanks for the help.

Moving it up and down is done manually, so if you pull up on the handle and move the seat to its highest perch can you get at the front mounting bolts with a small wrench or bit? In the past when I could only get a bit on and not my ratchet I resort to clamping on vice-gripes to the bit itself.

Hmmm... I'll have to look at that. Thanks for the reply.

If Heavydee54 has 8-way or 12-way power seats, the height adjustment is also powered. If the height adjustment also does not work, there may be a fuse or wiring problem.

If you haven't checked the fuses already, that might be a possible fix.

Another possibility is that the control that moves the seat has lost contact with the lever that it fits over. Pry off the control lever and see if you can move the part on the control board.

If none of these work, send me a PM with your email address and I'll send you a document that I prepared when I upgraded my seats. Unfortunately, it is too large to upload.
