I've had a bunch of Dodge Stealths. Deathsled was the "coolest" thing I could spell with the letters when I debadged the rear.

wasn't being creative when I joined the 986forum

and used my first name, as I have it done it on the other forums I belong as well, like (X1/9, Cayman Club now Planet9, Rennlist, etc., simple for me to remember.. :p

mikefocke 11-23-2018 11:19 AM

Easy. I determined to not hide behind an alias, to be responsible for every post I made. So I use my real name. And in every forum.

I've been online since before the internet and from its inception. I've seen what can happen when people forget that there are consequences to their words. Doesn't mean I've been always right, just that I try to be.

Qckslvr 11-23-2018 05:51 PM

Some 25 years ago I was new to the internet.

Some would say I was a surfer and took the name before Quicksilver Surf could... Well I don't surf.

But I did have a Mercury outboard on an old boat I had. I was sitting at my desk trying to think of an email address for AoL. That's when I saw a bottle of Mercury's 2 stroke Quicksilver Outboard oil mix sitting on my desk. Shortened it, and bam! Name.

On other forums I am Qckslvr240, I had a 72 240Z with triple side draft Delortos at the time. Even though I no longer have the car, it still remains to be one of my favorites so the 240 hangs around for nostalgia. :D

What's the story behind your forum name?

Mine is a simple but sad story. I have several names on various forums and other public medium sites; they were chosen for being humorous, whimsical and unique. After an ugly divorce, the ex continues to stalk, highjack, socially engineer into accounts and other mayhem, as she knew these usernames. On some sites, it has been both embarrassing and expensive. I have suffered several lifetime bans from some sites because of the shenanigans and she has moved money that I have to fight In court to recover. FML
My name is not Tony and I am not a tiger.
It’s been years yet she still won’t stop. I’m trusting all of you to help me with my new found anonymity. Can I trust you?

I was so smitten by fixed-wing RC aircraft....but after 10 or 12 years I just burned out on flying. I still have them.

jaykay 11-25-2018 01:09 PM
