Windshield washer spray pattern

On my 2003 986, the driver side windshield washer nozzle has started spraying more on the underside of the hood than onto the windshield, to the point that not much spray hits the windshield while on the highway. It does this at highway speeds and also while sitting still, although while sitting still some spray does hit the windshield. The passenger side nozzle hits the underside of the hood a little bit, but mostly hits the windshield nicely.

I did a search and see that the 2003 nozzles are not adjustable. I also checked that the nozzles are not clogged or blocked at all.

I'm not opposed to buying a new nozzle if that will fix the problem, but I'm wondering if it would, since the nozzle sprays fine, just not in the right place. I've thought about swapping the nozzles around and seeing if the problem moves with the nozzle as they both appear to have the same part number. I'm also wondering if perhaps the plastic cowl that the nozzles snap into has warped after 14 years. Does anyone know if I could apply a little heat to that plastic cowl while pushing down on it to change its shape a bit so the nozzle spray will hit the windshield?

If anyone else has had this problem and fixed it, I would love to hear about it!
