Pelican Parts Forum Site Issue <-- Please Read

Fellow Pelicans - we've recently had a few of you reach out to us in regards to a message of something along the lines of "Site Is Under Maintenance, Please Check Back Later" and we wanted to give you an update and hopefully a resolution to it.

Last week we had a database issue that has now been fully corrected and everything is back to normal. If you are still encountering the ‘Under Maintenance’ page, you need to do a forced refresh by holding down the CONTROL key and then hit F5. After doing this, exit the browser and open up a new page - this should clear up the issue and forum access be restored back to normal. The cache settings we have implemented for our Maintenance page are being looked at and we are continuing to work on a more streamline process of our maintenance page in the future to prevent this from happening again. We apologize any inconvenience that this may have started.

If after doing the force refresh you still encounter this "Under Maintenance' message/page or something else that hinders access, please post your findings here and we will have them looked at by our IT dept.

Again, we apologize for any and all inconvenience that this may have caused any of you.

Hello all, until a better maintenance method is put together I have updated the page itself with a helpful note about browser cache and force-refreshing if needed. I have also set the maintenance page to send a proper expires header as a way to avoid it being cached by browsers.

Unfortunately this will not resolve the issue for anyone whose browser has already cached the page during our last maintenance and forcing the page to refresh with CTRL+F5 (or Command+R on Mac) or clearing browser history & cache will be the only workarounds.

Sorry for the inconvenience, the database issue we encountered around last weekend required 3 different down periods of 1-2 hours each to get things working properly again.
