What is this?

It is a perforated lever on an electric switch in side the left rear wheel area. There's nothing connected to the lever but I can move it almost a full circle in either direction. I have no idea what this is or where it goes or what it is supposed to do. I would appreciate any help on this. Thanks, Bill

Garage
Litronic suspension angle sensor (for the suspension load auto-adjust of the factory Xenon headlights).

Wow, who would have thought way back there. Does it need a weight or something in the outside hole to make it adjust properly?

There should be an arm or linkage that connects to your control arm.

Ie. When u hit a bump or dip in the road and your suspension compresses(control arms move upwards and car moves downwards) that sensor tells the xenon to raise allowing your light pattern to remain unchanged on the road

Only relevant if your car still has litronics though. Isn't there one on one side of the front suspension as well?
