Custom interior identification 99 boxster

Can anyone help me identify this interior on my 99 boxster. I know it was ordered custom (not by me) but I can't figure out what to call it.

Guy

I've got the same interior on my Arctic Silver 2000S. I've seen a few photos of other cars with it but never seen one live and don't know how many were built with it but am curious.

My Ocean Jade Metallic '99 has the same interior.
P69 option code
It's a fairly unique interior. I've only seen a few.

I would say 8-9% of boxsters came with it. The grey paint is pretty durable compared to that crappy soft touch.

Woody, using crappy and soft touch in the same sentence is so unfair to crappy - my 03 has the soft touch so I should know!

The worst part of it all is that they put that soft touch on the plastic where the seat belt comes out over your shoulder. The seat belts make a total mess of that soft touch plastic. Some day I may actually do something about it!

I thought they would have learned their lesson with the 986, but they used it in the 987 too. It must be a german thing because I part out Audi S4's of the same generation and they have that crap on their interior's also. Does anyone know if the Germans are still slathering that crap allover the interiors of newer cars? I sure hope there's an end to it

IMO the 987 has it worse. The stuff in my '04 isn't too bad, still better than a period-equivalent Volkswagen. My '07 VW GTI did not really have issues with soft-touch at all - which was fantastic.

It wasn't just the Germans that used this stuff. My son had an early 2000's small Ford pickup truck last year. I helped him install a radio and that truck had a center console panel with the same crap on it that was also turning sticky!

and to think I must have spent over an hour searching for this, and I should have come here first.

I am thinking about selling it and my description has been downgraded from Unique to Rare, although 8-9% doesn't really qualify as rare.
