2000 s
Its truly great to see so many great boxsters with well over 100K miles
Mine is just about to click over to 100k. It is used every day thru the week and lives outside in all weathers, doesnt use any oil or water to speak of and is still wearing 90% of its original paint Jay Leno summed it up nicely when he said Ferrari owners like to brag how low their mileages are on their cars where as Porsche owners like brag about how high their mileages are..... I think this is down to the fact they are so addictive to drive. How often do you see Ferraris or Lambos on eBay with over 100K miles?? http://986forum.com/forums/uploads02...1515081063.jpg |
Just over 55k on my 2003 base http://986forum.com/forums/uploads02...1515083752.jpg

I cant resist another picture of my 2003 base. 😁

Amazing car, I know what you mean about loving her more each day, Im there... to point of not liking people touching her even mechanics, our kids oh ye and wifey who constantly reminds me its just a car lol Its weird because our family Passat is probably worth twice as much but iv next to zero interest in that. |
1998 turned 97,000 miles yesterday, just replaced soft top, coolant tank and AOS.

1998 with 120, 800 just had the fuel pump replaced.runs great. |
1997 chassis has about 240,000 miles.
The original engine failed at 204,000 street miles. Then the car was re-built as a race car and a used replacement engine installed. The current engine (#4 since becoming a race car) has around 100,000 street miles plus another 70 hours racing. I don't know the conversion between hours of racing and equivalent street miles but my guess is that the 70 hours (near or at redline) is close to another 70,000 miles on the street. With 70 hours racing already, I expect it to fail sometime in 2018; but who knows, maybe it will make it to 2019! |
2001 S, just tipped over the 90000 mark. Still has original ims.

Just bought a 1999 with 180k miles. Not certain the engine is original. I need to investigate that. The car is in amazing condition for miles and age. It was cheap and we plan to drive the tires off it until something craps out. I'll keep proper care of it and hope it turns 250k before something like the engine needs rebuilding.
We've had a couple of Silver 986's over the past 15 years. This one is the red-met or burgandy, love the color! |
140,235 on 2003 base. Original engine

Yes afaik. Bought it in 2011, with no reason to believe the motor and transmission have ever been out of the car. Have done water pump and nearly entire suspension. 2 tops, and had collision repair after a sapling destroyed the front radiators and bumper. 7500 mile oil change intervals. Coming up on my first anniversary of ownership (Feb 11). As of today I have 107,516 miles for an average of 7,819 miles per year since the warranty begin date (Mar 30, 2004).
Still running strong and looking great! https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...6eb2826346.jpg Here she is on the way home the day we picked her up. That’s my wife in her s5 next to our ‘new’ 986. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...df1de2f60e.jpg Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk |
85k on the speed yellow 2000 986.....lots to do before my 15 year old gets behind the wheel of her.......clutch:) Probably do the IMS/RMS at the same time.
30k miles on the 6GT3......80% are track miles, she is not even plated. Engine is out for the 30k service and to weld the pipes. 28k on the '88 Club Sport. I know what you are going to say...."you should drive it more" but the crazy prices of the 28 in the USA have me taking her out less often than I should. She is pristine! |

27,900 on my 1999 986 Boxster. I bought it last summer with just over 25K. It is still in pristine condition.

I'm not sure what happened when I attached that photo with my last post but I am unable to edit/delete it. Can someone advise how to do that?
Thanks. |
31K 2000 S, bought it 2 years ago with 25K. I had to use it as my daily driver for a couple of months. http://986forum.com/forums/uploads02...1518965023.jpg
|
2001 S - 83K miles, 10K since motor was completely rebuilt and IMS Solution installed.
|
2004 Anniversary Edition 550, 37500 on the clock, bone stock except the LN IMSB. Perfect in every way.....http://986forum.com/forums/uploads02...1518996882.jpg

'01S here, 152K and goes up every day. Two owners ago had the LNE IMS upgrade put in around 120K, I don't know if it ever had internal engine work done before that, but it runs perfectly and burns no oil at all. Nothing has broken on the car that wasn't already broken when I bought it yet, but I've only driven it 5K miles so far!

1998 Boxster 117,500
1986 BMW 325es 290,000 2012 Ford Edge Sport 121,000 |
1999 Black 986 = 176,000
2001 Black 4Runner = 284,000 2006 Gold Camry = 190,000 All work fine but I’ve put more money in the 986 on repairs. 4Runner only thing that ever broke was one U-Joint. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

My 2000 S has just turned 83K
|
'98 base at 55K.

02 Base just south of 170,000 miles - daily driver, not gonna win any beauty contest prizes, but sure is a blast driving her.
Slowly restoring her, kind of like a moebius strip or a sisyphean task, though. I enjoy the process and try not to focus on getting to the "end result" That seems to be the real joy for me with this car. It's a hobby, an obsession, maybe even a "Boxster disorder" but when I come on here, I see that I am not the only one who feels this way. As I read here and am making my mantra. "Drive more, worry less" One question though, how do I determine if this is the original engine? Where do I find a SN and is there a database to match that against? I don't have complete records (I know, I know....) |
2001 Boxster S with one clutch and an IMS replacement 107,800 miles, and she still looks showroom ready. :)
