Nikon D750

Amazing how the D750 is on back order every where. What's the high points that would cause the sell out?

I guess this is now a camera forum!
Personally, I'm waiting for the 7D Mark 3.

Rick3000, I was surprised by the topic myself, then looked at the Forum name; "General Discussion" LOL

If you like the 7D, you should look at the Nikon D500. It get's RAVE reviews. I'd be interested in comparing the 7Dm3 to the D500 Feature Set and price.

My take on photography equipment has not changed in 30 years. I used to show my customers examples of pictures that were taken with cameras we sold in our store. Of course, everyone wanted to know which one took the best pictures , yada yada yada. I would often ask them to choose the camera that took the photos we had shown them. I would also qualify it with a statement - if you can choose the camera that took the photo you should probably play the lottery too.
My point is that camera and lens manufactures are too close in quality to really tell the difference.
I told customers to pick the camera that they could easily access an use its features.
Nothing is more frustrating than not being able to figure out your expensive equipment.
Marketing sells, nothing more or less.

Could they be working on an ILB (intermediate lens bearing) upgrade?

The Nikon warehouse was closed a few months ago for inventory. More than likely the most popular cameras will start arriving at retailers soon.

Film or pixels are really the limiting factor in quality. Ah what I wouldn't give for Kodachrome 25.

I'm thinking about upgrading as well, but just to get a camera I can shoot video with. The old D60 is still working great.

I honestly want to purchase a new camera but have decided not to do so just like you, my D60 camera still works fine. I have always been a fan of Nikon as I am already familiar with the specs.

I have a D5300 with a Tamron 600mm lens. It's super nice.

You know, ever since I got an iPhone 7plus, I haven't had the need or desire to shoot with my full frame camera. Just another thing to carry around.

The pictures out of the iPhone are very sharp. I do miss some of my wide angle and telephoto lenses, but I can always fix that with a bit in post-processing.
