De-snorkeled, now smoking bit.

I de-snorkeled the 986 today and after start-up, it seems that there's now a bit more smoke from the exhaust at idle. Normally there was a very small amount which quickly dissipated. It now has more of a rumble at idle, but I'm not sure if it's worth it. Could it just be my imagination or has anyone else had this experience?

Joe

There's no way for this to be related.

Perhaps oil burn off from spark plug tubes? Maybe it wasn't as pronounced when the snorkle was in.

No, I've had my snorkel out for more than 10 yrs, and no such symptoms.

Thanks to everyone for your feedback. I think the cause may have been the result of an extremely humid period we had in the northeast. I took it out last night (dry, crisp cool evening) for a drive and no indication of recurrence.

Yeah, sounds like a coincidence. I desnorkeled and never had any such issue. Enjoy the new noise!
