Well looks to be taken care of. Seems I have super insane bad luck. 2 Alternators, 1 Starter, 1 Ignition Switch, numerous failed tests for drain. Find the starter is the issue. So I call the parts store to have them grab me one since it's under lifetime warranty. They tell me a store a mile up the road has one in stock. Holy crap, luck is turning around. I go get it, pop it in and test it and no drain. Sweet so I fire up the car and guess what... Battery light. FML. So I call them back up and have them order one. Bring it in today to swap out yet again and sure enough it tests bad. Made sure to have them test the new one before I walked out. Now time to put it all back together and see if one of my neighbors will help me put the top back on.
So I guess my luck has screwed me over the past few years.

Well, get to it. It's not going to fix itself!
I hope that does it.

The suspense is killing us. After 22 Posts you fixed it - great ! But please share what the fix was? From Post 18 it seems to be defective rebuilt alternators?

Drain was traced to the alternator. Alternator was replaced, but new one wouldn't charge. Replaced with a third.
Third alternator's the charm!

Short circuit in the alternator?! the regulator? whatever... both doesn't sound good.
Do I need to wrap my car batt in a fire blanket for prevention? Is this the new old'boxster bug, could be wrong but seen quite a few posts related to drain during the last year or so.
Glad Dark* sorted it out at the end, annoying bug from the look of this thread :/

That's good news. Let's hope you/we don't get a short circuit in the muffler next.
I've been looking into some of the circuit drawings for this car lately. Non-stop interesting material! Complexity at its very best/max... all to power a little mechanical engine and a few bulbs. It is all beyond incredible.... I mean, the stuff that can go wrong on that car lollll
Hope it last man, luck and thanks for the update

Me too, from top to bottom. poor 'thing' mine was at the time loll
Now I just can't wait until my 14.8V alternator shorts my super radio and strobe the playing song to the xenon headlights. I mean what else could go wrong with the car, a main switch?
