Dad traded an F550 for his 981 Boxster. Maintenance was exorbitant, the fear of dents, etc. add in the inability to actually utilize all the power it had and it made more sense to have the Boxster.
Having driven it, his Boxster, and my 986, I prefer my lowly base 986. It's more raw and engaging. For a 200+ MPH cross-country trip, I'd choose the Ferrari but otherwise, Boxster wins.
That said, I have a sweet spot for a 430!
