I've got a good friend in LA who's owned a 99 base Boxster for just over a year. In the late 1980's/early 1990's he owned two Ferraris - a Testarossa and a 400. He sold the Testarossa at the right time in the first Ferrari bubble, and made some money on it, but turned down $100k for the 400 at that time. Fast forward, he still owns the 400 which has been in storage forever. At the time his kids were younger and he thought the 400 was a "family-oriented" Ferrari, so he hung on to it. Now it would probably cost as much to pay someone to get it running and clean it up as the car would sell for, it is one of the only unloved Ferrari models.
